The White Rose

The Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan, No 716 CMH Road, 1st Stage, Indiranagar Inge Scholl, one of the initiators of the Ulm School of Design founded the Geschwister-Scholl-Stiftung foundation in memory of her brother and sister Hans and Sophie Scholl. The film is about the resistance group "White Rose" (Weisse Rose) in Munich, whose leaders - the students Hans and Sophie Scholl, Alexander Schmorell, Willi Graf, Christoph Probst and Professor Kurt Huber - were sentenced to death by the Nazi People's Court of Justice and executed in 1943. Their activities concentrated on drawing up pamphlets or writing slogans on the walls of buildings near the University of Munich. The film combines fact and fiction, its aim is to convey information about "the white rose”, and also to counteract the myth surrounding the Scholls.
