Chef Kunal Verma is the chef at Feast at Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway. As a child, with his little experience in cooking, decided the best way to beat boredom was to be a chef. We suppose he’s been successfully beating boredom for seven years now. In conversation with Explocity.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Mumbai.

 

What led you to becoming a chef?

I always loved cooking; from my childhood days, I thought this will be one job where I will never get bored.

 

How long have you been a chef?

I have been a chef for almost seven years now.

 

What do you enjoy more? Cooking or creating?

Cooking and creating goes hand in hand; if I will cook something I will create something.

 

Do you feel there is virtue in preserving the authenticity of cuisine?

Yes, authenticity is extremely important.

 

What dish do you like eating the most?

I love home-style food. I still wonder how to cook like my mother.

 

What’s your least favourite dish?

Well, I eat everything and anything.

 

How long have you been in Bangalore?

I have been in Bangalore for two years now.
