Erudite Epicure

A bowl of Coddle, sometimes called Dublin Coddle, is an Irish dish made of leftovers with roughly sliced pork sausages and rashers with potatoes and onions. Traditionally it can also include barley. The name comes from the verb coddle, which means to cook food in water below boiling. It could also be derived from the word caudle which is a warm drink given to someone who is sick.
