So, what do you give a woman who gives everything? Breakfast, a healthy keto breakfast in bed would be a great way to start to her day.

A ketogenic diet is a high fat, moderate protein, low carb food plan, that, contrary to popular belief, promotes longevity and good health. Longevity and mother is the perfect combination to a child’s happy life, and age has absolutely no bearing on this.

If there is one day of dedication among the numerous days that exist, and the one that makes sense and is completely worth our while, it is Mother’s Day. From first being conceived in the head and then in the belly, from birth and through the years, she is the center of our gravity. And she knows; she just knows everything said and unsaid.

Hot chocolate to warm her soul:

Whether it is at the end of an arduous day or the start of one, the hot chocolate is widely known as a comfort drink, promising to send us to relaxation heaven and back. The original drink is made with milk and sugar but here is the healthy keto version. It is so easy to make. Simply pour a quarter cup of heavy cream and add to it, a teaspoon or two of stevia (a naturally sweet plant) and two teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa powder. Mix it well with a whole lot of love and fill up the cup with steaming hot water. Set it on a tray and wake her up with it. While she savors it, let’s whip up a delicious array of keto goodies.

A bowl of cereal mixed with coconut milk to give her energy:

Mixed nuts and berries mixed together and served as cereal is not only tasty but contain healthy fats, proteins and nutrients to keep any ailment at bay and provide a continuous supply of fuel to the body. If there are no allergies, roast individually, equal quantities of peanuts, almonds, dry coconut, sliced thin, blueberries and cranberries on a slow flame. Mix them all together and store in an airtight jar. At the time of serving, take out a couple of tablespoons in a bowl and serve with coconut milk at room temperature. The good thing is that this does not require any extra sweetness as the berries lend their natural sweetness to it.

Eggs are healthy with their yolks:

There is no point in eating just the white of the eggs because the real nutrition lies in the yolks. Actually, egg whites only serve to appease the mind of a myth that it is better for health, but it has no real nutritional value and can be pretty tasteless. Enjoy the goodness and taste of the entire egg and make her a poached egg, boiled egg, a sunny side up to befit her sunny personality or drench it with cheese in an omelet.

Almond bread to go with eggs:

You might want to make this a few days in advance and refrigerate it. it keeps its original consistency and flavor for up to a week of refrigeration and a few days more. It can be toasted like regular bread, had plain or grilled with cheese. It can be also be made into a sandwich with tomato and cucumber slices and lettuce. A combination of almond flour, eggs, psyllium husk, xanthan gum, baking powder, baking soda, salt and curd and baked at 180 degrees Celsius for 70 minutes makes for the most heart healthy and supremely satisfying and stable version of regular bread. The best part is that it doesn’t harden or spoil in the fridge and if you’re tired of eating it as bread, then simply cut it up into squares, fry onion, red chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, toss in the bread cubes and enjoy a keto bread upma, a popular favorite among the south Indians. This is a lovely variation in case your mother doesn’t like to eat eggs directly.

A drink to digest it all:

A glass of lemon juice with black salt, stevia and water or soda.

A glass of chilled Kombucha. Kombucha is an ancient recipe of tea fermented for a total of 16 days. It is rich in probiotic enzyme, promotes gut health and boosts immunity.

A fruit infused soda. As fruits are high in carbohydrates and sugars, and juices are a no-no, keto or no keto, cutting up a cup of your favorite or in season fruit and pouring club soda over it and refrigerating it for a day provides all the goodness without adding to the carb content.
