Makara Chaula is a Sankranti dish made in Orissa. The harvested rice is mixed with coconut, banana, sesame, cottage cheese, jaggery and fruits. Sometimes spices like black pepper and and cardamom are also added to this.
All these ingredients are mashed and mixed together in milk.
