Moon Cakes at Memories Of China

The August Moon festival in celebrated in China with family, friends and a lot of Moon Cake. That’s what you should do in Bangalore this weekend too. At Memories Of China, Vivanta By Taj MG Road, Chef WIlliam Tong has made a special menu for the festival so we can experience the joy of it all too. “It is a very important festival back home. And I wanted to share the joy of it with Bangaloreans,” Chef Tong told Explocity.

The menu encompases the most authentic delicacies from the Cantonese and Szechuan region. The specials are Cantonese steamed prawns, tofu in golden egg yolk. We also recommend the Honey fried Lotus Stem, and the Stir fried greens with fresh Edamame beans.

The highlight of the menu is the traditional roast Peking duck, a must try. It is served with Chinese pancakes, and salad. The crispy skin is the best bit.

Of course the Moon festival is incomplete without the moon cakes. All the cakes are made in the kitchen of the restaurant traditionally The nuts are sun dried and the red bean paste is ground; the process takes over two days. But the result is a dish worth digging into. Served with coconut ice cream, it is perfection.

Available till 28th September, Memories of China, Vivanta By Taj, MG Road, Bangalore - from 12:30 PM to 3 PM, 7 PM to 11:30 PM
