Nasi Lemak is considered to be the National Dish of Malaysia. The dish is made of rice that is soaked in coconut milk and steamed. This is served with a sambal, anchovies, peanuts, chicken, a fried egg and fresh cucumber slices. The nasi lemak is neatly packaged in a banana leaf and steamed.
The dish is popularly eaten as a breakfast dish and was even voted one of the healthiest breakfasts in the world. It seems to have a lot of spices but even a lot of goodness. Maybe the Malays know more than the westerners wolfing down bacon and eggs for breakfast.
