It's no surprise therefore that the tricolour Paneer Tiranga makes its way to the Republic Day buffet at Limelight - the charming alfresco dining space at The Royal Orchid.

Love it, or hate it, but you certainly can't ignore it, on a day that's filled with patriotic fervour, a tri-coloured dish - paneer or pasta - is a must on any patriotic menu.

The Republic Day Bubbly Buffet is all about celebrating patriotism, along with some food and a whole lot of bubbly (read wine, draught beer and domestic liquor). And if the Paneer Tiranga isn't enough to get your patriotic juices flowing, there are the Tricolour Cheesecake and Tricolour Pannacotta, by jingo.

The hotel’s Republic Day menu features Chicken 65 and Babycorn Mushroom Pepper Fry as starters, or salads and soup.

The entrees include - apart from the obligatory live counters and chaat section - Keema kaleji, several popular South Indian dishes like Kori Gassi with Roti, Alleppey Chemmeen Curry, Olan, Thoran and Sambar just to name a few.

There's also the buffet staple, biryani, along with a selection of raitas and salon, along with the mandatory North Indian dals, vegetables gravies and Indian breads. And of course, if tri-coloured desserts aren't your thing, you can always try the  Kaju Barfi, Fruit Gateaux or Rasmalai to round off your meal.
