Spicy Sangria – an exhibition celebrating fashion

Sharmilla and Shaan Khanna, well known mother daughter-duo in the Indian fashion circles present their first ever exhibition in Bangalore - Spicy Sangria, an exhibition encompassing the prominent names from the India fashion industry.

Here’s a low-down of the brands and designers associated with the event:

Maheep Kapoor: Bollywood actor Sanjay Kapoor’s better half, Maheep Kapoor started creating jewellery as a hobby but now is a full-time designer.

Queenie Singh: Queenie Singh, although based in Mumbai travels all over India to showcase her collections that are most sought after. Anyone interested in fashion & society would be glad to know more about Queenie Singh. After all, the former model turned jewellery designer is one of India’s hippest fashionistas. Queenie Singh will be present with her latest collection for the season.

Sapna Singhania: Connoisseur and designer, Singhania has a global clientele for her eponymous line of diamond and semi-precious jewellery.

Vizyon: Vizyon is the first fashion house in India to bring together international designers to create contemporary wear for the hip and global Indian woman.

RRISO: This fashion ensemble is an established brand that embodies eclectic styles and provides a collection for every season in the Indian year. Head designer Sonu Dharnidharka adheres to a fashion concept, which is both modern and timeless. Her collections revolve around the use of neutral colors and monochromatic tones in fluid and multi-layered ensembles that are enhanced with unique, intricate embroidery.

Ravina's Bangalore: Ravina's Bangalore is located in Ulsoor, near Aga Abbas Ali Road. Nestled in a small bungalow below restaurants like Benjarong and Teppan. A wide collection of Salwar Kameez, Kurtis and a range for heavy wedding wear are available through out the year.

Stoffa: Premium handcrafted footwear, handbags and belts for women and girls by Priyanka Tejwani, Malini and Hersh Kotecha.

We Desi by Aprajita Toor: Whether it’s your soul mate or your sole mate, everyone wants the perfect blend of contemporariness and traditional values. And Aprajita Toor aims for just that. Footwear, bags, jewellery… She creates awe-inspiring style statements.

The Oak Tree: The Oak Tree owned by Priya Ailawadi Nathani is located at Colaba Causeway, Mumbai. The Oak Tree stocks clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery. Some of the designers who supply to Oak Tree are: MnB, Freanka Dhanak - hair accessories and jewellery, Shalini Shahani, Stoffa by Hersh Kotecha, Raya, 500 BC, Verandah, Lavina Godwani, Made by M, Zooni by Reema and many more.

An accomplished woman in the fashion and events industry, Sharmilla Khanna is an Event Manager who does luxury events and launches. She has successfully organised the store openings of international brands such as MAC, Jimmy Choo, Burberry, Samsaara, Aza etc. Her expertise is online marketing, PR & brand consultancy for designers, jewellers & lifestyle stores. She organises an upmarket exhibition called Araaish – the fund raising arm of Save The Children India - a non-profitable organisation run by Mana Shetty (film actor Suniel Shetty's wife) for underprivileged children. Her daughter Shaan Khanna owns a lifestyle blog called Spicy Sangria, which covers food, fashion, lifestyle and events. The blog was nominated in the ‘Best Lifestyle’ category by Cosmopolitian Magazine’s annual awards, this year. Shaan organises events like popup shops for designers etc. She has been working with Sharmilla Khanna on events for the past 3 years. She is part of the organising team for Araaish in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Dubai.

The exhibition will be on the 31st of August 2013 at the Vivanta by Taj, MG Road at Ulsoor Rd., opposite 1MG Mall. From 11am to 7.30pm.
