Mithila showcases a specially curated collection for Ugadi at their new store on Residency Road with special offers

Offers on upto the 29th of March 2017

Ugadi heralds the start of a new year in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. In both states, the festival is locally referred to as the beginning of the Kannada and Telugu Panchang respectively. Ugadi comes from 2 words, Yuga meaning era and Aadi means the beginning. People of Maharashtra also observe the same day as Gudi Padwa. Ugadi is believed to be the day when Brahma the creator in the Hindu trinity formed the universe. Its also the same time when winter is on its way out and springs round the corner,  so the concept of new life and new year is really very appropriate for Ugadi festival. People not only celebrate it with special food, but also wear new clothes to bring in the New Year.

Mithila, now open at residency road boasts of a specially curated collection of the finest woven sarees and textiles from all across India, for Ugadi. Mithila is an answer to Mythili Ashok’s passion for fine fabrics and textiles which she’s had for over thirty years. Mithila boasts of vibrant Sarees, be it Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Patola, Chanderi, Dhakai, Ikkat, Tussar or Khadi.

Mythili Ashok has been an avid connoisseur and collector of fine fabrics and textiles for a long time and it all started with her also being an avid traveller. When others did the touristy kind of holidaying, Mythili would go down the lesser trodden path and visit craftsmen and artisans of the particular region, to know and experience the craft that goes into making fine textiles & fabrics and so began her tryst with Indian textiles and today we see all of that at the new store on Residency Road.

The ambience of the store is very ethnic and vintage, and makes one feel at home. There is a hint of tradition combined with comfort, and shopping in the ambience of Mithila makes it an experience to remember.

Sarees start at Rs 2000 and stoles and accessories at Rs 1000
