Event Description

The end of life of textiles is creating a huge cost that no one is bearing right now. Only strict producer responsibility in which textile industries take back or pay for storage or own the end of life costs will this very problematic textile waste be treated in a more sustainable manner. We will focus on the challenges Bangalore is facing. Nalini Shekar is the co- founder and Executive Director of Hasiru Dala. Her passion lies in restoring the dignity of workers in the unorganised waste sector, improving their access to predictable livelihoods and providing social security for their families.
