Sunday Morning To Afternoon Phenomena: Sunday Brunch At Palette

How do you like spending your Sunday? Duh, sleeping of course! Err, yes, but apart from that? Doesn't the idea of a long relaxed meal, stretching into the afternoon, with family and friends sound appetising? Why, yes, we are talking about brunches of course, that ever popular Sunday morning to afternoon phenomena.

Ask Chef Agnimitra Sharma, Executive Chef at the Vivanta by Taj, Yeshwanthpur, what his idea of a brunch is, and pat comes his reply. "Good food, that you can enjoy with your family, with no rush, and completely relaxed."

Sunday brunches are a popular feature across hotels and restaurants across the city and one such place where you can enjoy one is at Palette at the Vivanta by Taj, Yeshwanthpur.

The brunch menu is a mix of Indian, Oriental, Italian and Continental flavours, enough to please even the most finicky palate. You have a choice of soups, starters, salads, main courses, Indian breads, rice, desserts, live stations, and alcohol as well - enough to keep you busy for several hours, we think.

The Live Counters are usually the most popular spots at any buffet and you have four to choose from here. Dim Sums, Chaat Station, European Grills with a wide variety of meat and a South Indian Dosa, Aapam and Kuzhipaniyaram counter.

There are vegetarian and non vegetarian starter options like Tangadi Kabab and Paneer Satay and similar options in soups as well. Another popular choice during brunches is loading up your plate with salads - you have options like Fresh Tomato and Broccoli with Aioli, Lamb and BBQ Pineapple Salad, Chicken Cobb Salad, Garden Green Salad and German Potato Salad (among others). You'll be spoilt for choice in the mains with items like Cous Cous filled Courgettes, Stir Fried Five Treasure Vegetables, Pineapple Rasam Spicy Veg Soba Noodles, Thai Style Grilled Beef, Nellore Fish Curry and the all-time any-meal favourite Chicken Biryani.

We did say the menu represented a mix of eclectic tastes, didn't we? Oh yes, the desserts of course - Peach and Almond Pie. Chocolate Truffle, Creme Brûlée, Rasmalai, and Gajar Ka Halwa, just to name a few.

So what are you waiting for? Go load up your plate and enjoy a relaxed Sunday brunch. There's even face painting, nail painting, pottery and a tattoo artist to keep your kids entertained.

The Sunday Brunch at Palette, Vivanta by Taj Yeshwanthpur starts at Rs 1800 plus taxes.
