EVENT HAS ENDED

The Attakkalari India Biennial caravan continues in its stride, slowly yet surely. Heeding caution to the rising numbers of COVID 19 cases in the city, the contemporary movement and digital arts festival has rehauled it's schedule and will be hosting most of its events virtually this month. And so for those who are looking for alternative forms of entertainment, the upcoming days have quite a bit in store in terms of dance films, interactive installations and an intensive as well.
SCREENINGS AND CONVERSATIONS
This weekend, sit down for an evening of marvel with three critically-acclaimed and award-winning works by Australian choreographer Garry Stewart namely, The Circadian Cycle, South and Supernature.
The Circadian Cycle is a 16-minute-long film that uses the dancing body as a metaphor to examine morphology, biological rhythm and animal behaviour. The film won Best Experimental Film award at the Brooklyn Film Festival in 2020.
South is a dance production choreographed by Stewart that charts the ill-fated journey of South Australian explorer Sir Douglas Mawson and his team across East Antarctica in 1913. Supernature is an awe-inspiring depiction of the relationship between humans and the natural world. It brings to the fore concepts such as interspecies hybridity, metamorphosis, reproduction, decrepitude, mutations and the processes of evolution. Viewers will get to watch recordings of South and Supernature performances. A Q&A with Garry Stewart will follow the screening
