Event Description

The Indian Institute of Cartoonists will host its 200th cartoon exhibition and the release of the annual magazine Cartoonists India 2024 on December 7, 2024. The event will include a panel discussion featuring prominent figures in cartooning.

An exhibition showcasing the works of the late cartoonist M.S. Ramakrishna will also open at the Indian Cartoon Gallery on the same day. Ramakrishna's contributions appeared in publications such as Shankar’s Weekly, Caravan, Woman’s Era, Sun, and Youth Times, among others. His work is featured in the Penguin collection The Indian Cartoons compiled by Abu Abraham. Notable series by Ramakrishna include Hubby in Caravan and Rajita in Woman’s Era.

The release of Cartoonists India 2024 marks a step towards an international focus, expanding its scope to include research articles on the global history of cartooning.
