Non Profits have contributed to all sectors in education, health, livelihoods, art and culture, animal care, handicrafts and handlooms, age care and child care and their contribution is 2 % of the GDP amounting to 365 billion. India’s non profit sector from the days of Mahatma Gandhi had pioneered work in Sarvodaya from leprosy care to rural development in remote areas of the country. Today they are working in all the aspirational districts and their last mile connectivity and delivery is commendable. The Million Missions report finds that they contribute to all the 17 Sustainable development Goals and are fulfilling the Mahtama’s vision of “Leave No One Behind”. The innovations in health care, education and social justice have been highlighted in the report and these have all become part of India’s development paradigm not only in laws but in public policy. Today non profits are continuing their work and contributing to the nation’s development and economy and are employing 18.1 million workers among which are 9 million volunteers. Come and celebrate the contribution of the non profit sector – the third sector of the economy. Mathew Cherian and Deval Sanghavi will present their findings from the report. This will be followed by 5 NGOs presenting insights from their work. This will be followed by a panel discussion and a Q&A with the audience.
