Event Description

The rich traditions of Bhojpur shine in a Bharatanatyam narrative like no other!

Abhadra, the first-ever Bharatanatyam production in the Bhojpuri language, tells a story that resonates far beyond its region. Through the elegance of classical dance, it explores the fragility of cultural heritage in the face of poverty, displacement, and migration.

The performance traces the journey of communities whose language, traditions, and very existence are often overlooked or challenged. At the same time, it celebrates the vibrancy, resilience, and spirit of Bhojpuri culture—its music, stories, and lived experiences. Every gesture, rhythm, and expression reflects the delicate threads that weave identity and memory.

Abhadra invites audiences to witness the intertwining of art and life, showing how classical performance can illuminate contemporary social realities while preserving cultural richness. It is a reminder of that which can be lost and can endure, when traditions meet the challenges of modern life.

Experience a story where heritage dances, struggles, and survives, leaving a lasting impression on both heart and mind!
