Artists Poonam Singh and Jeetendra Kumar present a shared visual language shaped by gesture, form, and mutual creative dialogue, translating their bond into paintings and sculpture.
Jeetendra Kumar works primarily in abstraction, using sweeping lines, swirls, and patterns to express a “symphony of emotions.” His work reflects themes of movement, time, and modern chaos, drawing inspiration from Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin. Animal and human forms—particularly the horse, a recurring symbol of strength, energy, and motion—feature prominently, rendered in vibrant blues, reds, and oranges that suggest optimism and unity.
Poonam Singh’s practice is rooted in spirituality and Indian philosophy. Her Conch Series explores themes of purity, harmony, and the cyclical nature of life, using the conch shell as a symbol of divine energy and environmental balance. Alongside painting, she works extensively with clay and terracotta, creating human and animal sculptures that emphasise tactility, earthiness, and organic form. Her sculptural practice draws from Indian folk traditions while engaging a contemporary narrative.
Presented at MKF Museum of Art, the exhibition reflects a convergence of abstraction, symbolism, and materiality, shaped by two distinct yet complementary artistic voices.
