The Acoustic Sessions present - IN MY DREAMS

“IN MY DREAMS” is a story about longing for romance and love.

LUDMI aka Liudmila Emelianova (vocals) accompanied by Aman Mahajan on piano

LUDMI started her music journey as a classical pianist in Moscow (Russia) at the age of 5. Later on she started exploring her voice, having received training in Prague Conservatory (CZ), attending programs at Berklee Umbria Jazz Clinics (IT) and Berklee Valencia (ES). She also studied acting from Prague Film School and became a verified Heather Lyle Vocal Yoga teacher in 2021 (USA) — a path that led her to India in December 2021

After Moscow, Liudmila Emelianova lived in Prague for the past eight years and is currently based in Auroville, Tamil Nadu. With a strong and enthralling voice, she is comfortable singing any style, from pop to jazz to opera. Apart from her musical projects, Ludmi is a vocal yoga coach, helping people free their voices and enjoy their unique sound.

She has already made her mark in the music circles in and around Auroville, where she is currently residing. She is now working on her project with pianist Aman Mahajan, rearranging original compositions and standards in multiple languages, bringing together flavours from across the world. Their performances are full of raw expression, sincerity and improvisation.

LUDMI is also a part of a newly formed vocal trio called Just Sisters bringing the complex harmonies of jazz, blues and bossa nova together in three voices, accompanied by minimal instrumentation on piano and guitar.

In March 2021, LUDMI released her first single and music video (incidentally, the first song she ever composed) called In My Dreams. This song is about this longing for romance and love—a beautiful fantasy of an all-consuming feeling that seems so close, which has also become the main theme for the upcoming show at natakvalas, Bangalore on May 20th, 2022.

Aman Mahajan is a pianist, composer and improviser based in Bangalore, India, playing improvised music across a diversity of musical idioms. His current work is influenced by traditional and contemporary forms of music from around the world, often concept-driven, and inspired by a sense of unity and connection. He is keenly interested in improvised music as a medium of interaction and exploration.
