Event Description

Kantha is the flagship sub festival at BLR Hubba 2024- 16 days of music at the historic Freedom Park, celebrating music from across Asia that breaks boundaries. Between 30 November and 15 December, weekends will see 3 artists play each day, while weekdays will have 2 artists each day.

About the Performance   

The Anirudh Varma Collective (AVC) is a contemporary Indian classical ensemble from New Delhi, India. It is led by pianist, composer & producer, Anirudh Varma. The Collective comprises over 150 musicians and artists from across India, America, and Canada. Their attempt is to bring the rich tradition of Indian Classical music out of a niche viewership to a larger global audience, through convergence with diverse genres but keeping it rooted in its pure form.   

AVC has presented over 600 concerts in the last 6 years across India, Maldives and  Kuwait. It toured the USA in 2023 presenting 15 concerts across 9 cities. The ensemble received the award for the Best Indie Band of the year by the Clef Music Awards in 2023, for the track Naino Waaleya, featuring Darshan Doshi and Kamran Zafar (Coke Studio).    

AVC’s debut album ‘Perspectives’ and second album ‘Homecoming’ was featured as the top indie albums of 2018 and 2022 by the Rolling Stone Magazine.
