Event Description

Apar-kaya, Expressing through Another Body is a story unfolding through the singing of the weavers who compare the rigid threads of the loom with Vedavati, and the emerging cloth, soft but resilient, with Sita. A tale of two women, existing in two time dimensions.

The two lives flow together, Sita – alive, and Vedavati – dead to the world, but alive indeed, in her passion for revenge.

Ultimately, Vedavati finds her liberation, not in revenge, but in her understanding of Sita.

Through the two lives of Vedavati, Apar-kaya touches a few issues which are very relevant in today’s world – the perception of morality and the perception of strength.
