Event Description

Set in the context of the recent legal rulings in Bangalore that limit public protest to spaces such as Freedom Park, this session aims to explore alternative avenues for dissent by examining the intersection of law, art, and activism. The discussion will begin with legal insights into the ramifications of the high court ruling and its impact on diverse communities followed by a foray into how art can be a potent tool for social change amidst restricted protest rights. This session with Shilo Shiv Suleman, Mamta Sagar, Vinay Sreenivasa and moderated by Divya Narayanan will seek to demonstrate how art can amplify voices, provoke thought, and catalyze change in the absence of traditional protest avenues, both offline and online.
