Event Description

The Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bengaluru opens its doors to the public on 18th February, 2023. A much-awaited moment for museum-goers across the country to partake in the rich and diverse collection of South Asian art here at MAP. The opening week will showcase an intermingling and celebration of diverse art forms within the museum space, as well as online. Along with our opening exhibitions, there will be a range of talks and performances at the museum in Bengaluru, while the digital version will showcase curated content about the museum and our mission.

With Art is Life: New Beginnings, we are looking to celebrate the opening of our state-of-the-art museum space with a host of events and talks which encourages people to explore the museum and the collection, here at MAP. Our previous iterations were conducted online with Art is Life launching as a digital event in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic. We pride ourselves in bringing an outlet for people to engage with art through a vast array of online programming and events. In 2021, Art is Life: Soundframes was conceptualised, designed and themed around music, to virtually explore the power of the museum, and music, to bring people together.

This year, we are looking forward to bringing people to our new museum space where the visitors can interact and engage with the artworks in its true essence.
