Asymptomatic is a cocktail of comedy, tragedy, farce, dance, stand up, theatre all rolled into one. And like a cocktail, it particularly affects whoever watches it.  Who among us has never faced rejection? Whether for a job, a programme, a relationship...  The piece tells the story of an artist hungry for success, and rebuffed at every turn. What happens to a person who must constantly prove themselves and their worth?  

Asymptomatic is a solo performance that takes a hard look at the power systems that largely govern who will succeed and who will not, presented with bold—and funny—irreverence.   

About Abhay Mahajan  

Abhay Mahajan is an accomplished actor, writer, and director with over two decades of experience in theatre, having performed in over 30 plays with over 400 shows worldwide. A recipient of the Vinod Doshi Fellowship and Inlaks Theatre Award, he has collaborated with renowned directors such as Mohit Takalkar and Atul Kumar. Abhay is also active in Marathi and Hindi cinema and web series, with notable work in TVF Pitchers, Trijya, Ishq Next Door, and Hutatma. A 2014 graduate of Attakkalari’s contemporary dance program, he has trained under eminent choreographers like Akira Yoshida and Anton Lachky. Abhay conducts body awareness and acting workshops and has been a visiting faculty member at various institutions. Asymptomatic marks his debut as a solo performer and writer.
