Event Description

We showcase the finest handpicked musicians from across the country in the coziest bookstore in the city of Bangalore. Sip on some filter coffee, flip through a book or two, sit back and breathe in the music. This month we have the Hindustani jazz fusion sensation, Isheeta Charkvarty and her band, performing for us.

About Isheeta Chakrvarty -
Isheeta is a contemporary vocal artiste with a versatility that ranges from traditional Hindustani music of thumris and qawwalis to traditional and modern jazz, pop and their genre derivatives.

Isheeta has performed at Jazz and World Music festivals around the globe, namely -

La Merce Festival 2014, Spain
Java Jazz Festival 2016, Indonesia
Cervantino Festival 2016, Mexico
Star of Asia Festival 2018, Kazakhstan

Back home, she has performed with the likes of Raghu Dixit, Vishal Dadlani, Richa Sharma in the commercial space, while also sharing the stage with Jazz maestro Louiz Banks, Sanjay Divecha, Gino Banks, Karim Ellaboudi and George Brooks from the Jazz and Jazz fusion industry. She recently opened for Ustad Zakir Hussain at the International Jazz Festival 2019, held at the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai playing her original compositions with her own collective.
