Being presented by Attakkalari in collaboration with Acción Cultural

be performed on May 20, 7.30 pm at the BIC.
Bengaluru: As the city’s culture calendar picks up speed with concerts, performances,
talks and exhibitions, the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts brings to you another
spectacular dance performance all the way from Spain.
Envisaged as an extension of the recently concluded 10 th Attakkalari India
Biennial, La Desnudez, the award-winning dance production from the
Daniel Abreu Company, will premiere in Bengaluru on May 20, at the
Bangalore International Centre.
Directed and choreographed by Daniel Abreu, La Desnudez is an impassioned
performance that has enthralled audiences worldwide since its debut in 2018. Intense
and minimalistic, the dance production brings National Dance Award winners
Abreu and Dácil González together on stage as a couple that pulls and pushes,
leaps and falls, makes love and stretches the levels of intimacy that two human beings
can share between themselves. Accompanied by live music played on a variety of wind
instruments by Hugo Portas, the duo indulge in a passionate back and forth as they
explore the path between death and love. At its core, the dramatic performance is
a poetic proposal about knowing how to love oneself. “This work is about
suggesting a polarised path between love and death. A man and woman move and touch
each other. They construct something liquid, much in accordance with modern society,
writes Daniel Abreu about this performance that took two years to be made. A unique
performance of electrifying energy and intense focus, there are innumerable
moments in the performance that will surprise it's spectators. La Desnudez won prizes
for Best Dance performance, Best Choreography and Best Male Dancer at Premios Max
2018.
