Event Description

Bengaluru’s beloved literary festival returns this year at a brand-new venue — Freedom Park, a historic 20-acre space in the heart of the city. The 2025 edition will host nearly 300 international, Indian and Bengaluru-based authors across 4 programme venues and 3 children’s stages, with conversations spanning fiction, history, crime, AI, culture, food, film, feminism, geopolitics and more.

Headlining the Festival are International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq, Clare Mackintosh, Karen Hao, Kazim Ali, Julie Janson, Shashi Tharoor, Pankaj Mishra, Amish, Chetan Bhagat, Shobhaa De, Vir Das, Gauri Shinde, Akhil Katyal, Arundhathi Subramaniam, GN Devy, Ramjee Chandran, Rujuta Diwekar, Vikram Sood, Chandrashekhar Khare, Ullas Karanth, Gopalkrishna Gandhi, Sudha Murty, Rohini Nilekani, Jeet Thayil, Anita Nair, Vivek Shanbhag and many more.

This year’s Festival also brings an expanded Children | Literature | Fun (C|L|F) with over 75 sessions of storytelling, workshops, performances and illustration for ages 4+, 8+ and 12+.

Expect morning music performances, immersive sessions, a buzzing festival bookstore, and the return of LitMart and ScreenLit, platforms for aspiring writers to pitch to leading publishers, editors and screenwriters. The Festival will also present the Atta Galatta–BLF Book Prize, the Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay Book Prize, the Deodar Prize, and the BWW RK Anand Book Prize.

“Prepare to be taken by storm — a storm of beautiful, apt, necessary words,” says Festival Director Shinie Antony.
