Banyan Tree Events proudly presents the Silver Jubilee Edition of Barkha Ritu, India's first and largest monsoon music festival, celebrating 25 glorious years of musical excellence. As part of its landmark multi-city journey, Barkha Ritu 2026 arrives in Bengaluru with an enchanting evening celebrating the timeless relationship between the monsoon season and Indian classical music.

The concert will be held on Saturday, 15th August 2026 at 6:30 PM at Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Bengaluru, and is being presented as a fundraiser concert in aid of Tender Roots Academy of Performing Arts, an initiative committed to nurturing and preserving India's rich performing arts traditions.

The Bengaluru edition of Barkha Ritu 2026 will feature:

For twenty-five years, Barkha Ritu has celebrated the timeless bond between the monsoon and Indian classical music. Inspired by seasonal ragas such as Malhar, Megh, Miyan Ki Malhar, Desh, Amritavarshini, and Varunapriya, the festival has become a cherished cultural tradition, presenting some of India's finest Hindustani and Carnatic musicians while creating memorable musical experiences for audiences across the country.

The evening will open with a unique presentation by S. Shashank, one of India's foremost Carnatic flute virtuosos, in collaboration with Rajasthani Traditional Folk Music. Blending the expressive beauty of the bamboo flute with the vibrant folk traditions of Rajasthan, the performance promises to create a captivating musical dialogue that beautifully reflects the spirit of the monsoon.

This will be followed by a recital by Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar, one of the most celebrated vocalists of the Mewati Gharana. Known for his soulful renditions and profound command over raga music, his performance will bring alive the serenity and emotional depth associated with the monsoon season.

The festival will conclude with a performance by Vidushi Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, one of the foremost exponents of the Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana. Renowned for her scholarly approach, intricate artistry, and deeply evocative singing, her recital promises to be a memorable finale, celebrating the richness and grandeur of India's classical music tradition.

As it celebrates its Silver Jubilee, Barkha Ritu continues its commitment to preserving India's rich musical heritage while making classical music accessible and engaging for audiences across generations.
