Event Description

One-day Street theatre workshop for theatre enthusiasts. Announcing a one-day workshop centred around exploring street theatre at BCC (Banglore Creative Circus). This is a workshop for all theatre enthusiasts who might not have time for regular theatre endeavours. It is not mandatory to know any acting, all we expect is a great deal of enthusiasm and a voice true to yourself. All participants are expected to work on a small production and perform it by the end of the day with the help of the facilitator. Welcoming participants of all age groups (above 16) and backgrounds to express their unique selves through the magic of street theatre. The workshop is planned such that all participants take part in theatre exercises and bodywork. Work on understanding space and body language. Have a brief discussion on "bayalu naataka" or street theatre. Post the discussion all participants start working on their production with due guidance. All participants are free to take up a role that fits them right, be it on stage or backstage. The facilitators will constantly work on these pieces with the participants. By the end of the day, all participants will present parts of their play as a group. The Workshop will be facilitated by Shreyasi Patil. A theatre enthusiast who has been working with theatre and teaching for the past 4 years. They have been working with skill training for children and adults alike. They have directed multiple plays and theatre workshops. Now touring with their project gender and theatre, they hope to educate high school children and queer individuals on the basics of gender studies through theatre. Being an art curator, they always look to put forward interesting interdisciplinary work, for the world to see. This workshop is one of a kind where they hope to be a part of something very unique and true to the voices of Bangalore and its people.
