Pandit Venkatesh Kumar, learned music from his father, a folk artist, and later studied the Gwalior Gharana under Pandit Puttaraja of Vireshwara Punyashram in Gadag. He is a Professor at Karnataka University’s Music College and a Grade A Artist of Akashvani. Known for his earthy Dharwad style and occasional echoes of Rajaguru’s singing, he has performed at prestigious musical gatherings nationwide.
