Veteran artist Bharati Sagar brings her deep environmental concerns to life through earthy, imaginative figures that evoke joy, peace, and kinship with nature. Known for her experimental use of media—from oils and charcoal to iron dust and embossing—Sagar’s new series invites viewers into a world of fantasy rooted in ecological awareness.

With a career spanning decades, Bharati has exhibited across India and globally, earning accolades including the Lalit Kala Academy Award and the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award for Women in Arts. Her celebrated ‘Boxed In’ series, a powerful commentary on women’s confinement, reflects her conceptual depth and mastery of space and emotion.
