Event Description

Experience the vibrant ritualistic tradition of Bootha Kola, a sacred performance practice from the coastal region of Karnataka. This lecture-demonstration opens a window into the world of spirit worship expressed through music, movement, and transformation.

Renowned practitioner Santosh Hosaangadi will present a live demonstration on the elaborate process of makeup and dressing, while Professor Purushottam Bilimale will share insights on the evolution of spirit animals in this ritualistic practice.

Curated by Tvarita Arts Collective in association with MAP, this interactive session brings together practitioner knowledge and academic perspective, offering audiences a rare opportunity to understand and engage with this powerful artform.
