Event Description

The 12th Attakkalari India Biennial, in collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, presents the India premiere and tour of BRICKS – Chorale for Bricks and Bodies by Switzerland-based Antipode Danse Tanz, led by choreographer Nicole Morel. The project is supported by the Embassy and Consulates of Switzerland in India under the Sustainability With a Plus initiative.

Developed through an artistic residency at the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts (3–13 February 2026), the work brings together Swiss and Indian dancers. The India premiere will be staged at the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts, Bengaluru, on 13 February 2026 at 7.30 pm, followed by performances at Rangayana, Mysuru (15 February, 6.30 pm) and the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai (22 February, 5 pm).

A transdisciplinary dance work with original music by Violeta Cruz, BRICKS explores the relationship between body, space, and architecture, using movement, sound, and material to question how built environments shape human and ecological experience.

Nicole Morel will also lead a contemporary dance workshop at the Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bengaluru, on 19 February 2026.
