30th July, 2020: This National Handloom day, let’s celebrate the richness of Indian weaves. GoCoop, India’s first and largest online marketplace for weavers and artisans will host the  2nd edition of ‘Go Swadeshi Online’ a first of its kind online exhibition showcasing a wide range of exquisite and authentic handloom sarees, fabrics, dress materials, stoles, dupattas, menswear, home décor and accessories by weavers and artisans from across the country. The 15-day online event will be held from 1st-15th August coinciding with National Handloom Day celebrated on the 7th August.  The event is aimed at helping artisans, reinstate the pride in hand-spun, hand-woven and handcrafted products, support ‘vocal for local’ and to encourage people to indulge in the rich handloom traditions of India

National Handloom Day, celebrated on the 7th of August, was launched to commemorate the Swadeshi Movement started in 1905. This initiative by the Government of India is aimed at building awareness about handlooms, extend support to our artisans and promote the richness of Indian weaves. With a similar objective, GoCoop.com, India’s first and largest online marketplace for Handlooms, was started with an aim to empower weavers and artisans through technology innovation. Founded on 15th of August 2014, over the last six years GoCoop has created the largest supply chain of handlooms in India. They currently work with 350+ cooperative societies and 50+ craft clusters in India.

In addition to this, embroidered sarees, dupattas, stoles by the Lambadi community, handcrafted home accessories by women artisans from tribal areas are a special part of handcrafted collection.
