The Krishna Cosmic Circle of Life 25 mins | Documentary | English | 2020 Directed by Maya Chandra Produced by Dilip Mathai Trust, The Bangalore Environment Trust and MAYA Films

The backwaters of River Krishna is a treasure trove of biodiversity. The variety of flora and fauna is mind-boggling and is a great and lesser-known asset of Karnataka. The flocks of greater flamingos and the thousands of bar-headed geese are just two of the hundreds of stars in this most vibrant eco-system – at the backwaters of the Almatti Dam on River Krishna in the Bijapur district of Karnataka. This documentary traces the divine cosmic circle of life that is so vital to the backwater ecosystem, and celebrates the co-existence of Man and Nature.

Shot over the rainy and summer seasons of migration, this documentary is a testimony to the art and science of visual storytelling, produced with a minimal budget and facilities. This film has been widely acclaimed and recognised with many awards including Mumbai International Film Festival, MIFF 2020- Official Selection, Mysuru International Water Film Festival, 2020- Best Documentary, ECOCUP Green Documentary Film Festival- Finalist, Lift-Off Global Network Sessions 2022- Official Selection, One Earth Awards 2022- Official Selection and Our Heritage, Our Planet 2022- Official Selection.
