About the Artist:

Cherry Mrong is a rising singer-songwriter from Tura, Meghalaya, known for her soulful voice and emotionally resonant songwriting. Blending indie pop and funk, she has steadily carved out a distinct identity in the Garo music scene.

She gained recognition as the runner-up at Launchpad 2022 and went on to win the Best Potential Band title at Prime Music Incubation 2023. Her original songs, including "Saksan," "Jachipchang," and "Bebeanma," showcase her ability to tell deeply personal and relatable stories through music.

A dynamic live performer, Cherry has graced major stages across Meghalaya, including Me.gong Festival, Hills Festival, TriHills Festival, and Shillong Literary Festival, and has also represented Meghalaya Tourism at the prestigious Waves Summit in Mumbai.

The Humming Tree:

The Humming Tree - A grassroots performance venue in Bangalore, running from 2013 to 2019 and in the process becoming a cornerstone of Bangalore’s independent music, art, and cultural ecosystem.

Now, in 2026, The Humming Tree is back in a brand-new, purpose-designed space in Indiranagar.
