Identity and Expression Zine Making Workshop with Debosmita Dam A note from the facilitator: A zine, to me, is like the court jester. It is like a glass of water. Without taking itself too seriously, it conveys some essential truth, it speaks truth to power. It can be with or without embellishments, with aesthetic prowess or not. A zine speaks to our core need for creativity, the need to say something and to make ourselves be heard. To shift shapes of thoughts, feelings, ideas. To disguise something, or to reveal something else. It comes with the liberty for you to say it as you want, to shape it as you like. It can be poetry, and it doesn’t need to be poetic. It can be curiously clever, and it can be deeply sad. A zine will always hold you, it will be the space for you to be as authentic as you can be. In collaboration with Champaca Books and Faces of Bengaluru
