Event Description

This course offers an introduction to the history and aesthetics of French cinema through monthly thematic modules. Each module will combine:
* Film excerpts and screenings
* Interactive discussion
* Historical and cultural context
* Introduction to cinematic language and analysis

Each module is independent, so you may join any module regardless of whether you have attended a previous one.

The course will be conducted by Vibha Gopalkhrisna, French teacher at AFB, passionate about using cinema in language teaching. Inspired by French cinema during her Master’s studies at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) she later completed specialized training in teaching French through cinema at CAVILAM in 2024.

The second module on Poetic Realism and Post-War Cinema will start on Sunday 16th of August 2026:
