Event Description

This course proposes an introduction to the history and aesthetics of French cinema through thematic monthly modules. Each module will combine:
- Film excerpts and screenings
- Interactive discussion
- Historical and cultural context
- Introduction to cinematic language and analysis

The course will be conducted by Vibha Gopalkhrisna, French teacher at AFB, passionate about using cinema in language teaching. Inspired by French and Soviet cinema during her Master’s studies at Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) she later completed specialized training in teaching French through cinema at CAVILAM in 2024.

The first module on “The Birth of Cinema: From Invention to Visual Poetry” will start on Sunday 5th of July 2026:
