Terms like Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies, Non-Fungible Tokens are par for the course currently. The crypto market touched USD 3-trillion valuation and is growing fast, surviving headwinds from Central Banks, regulators and traditional financial institutions.

Bitcoin, based on a blockchain was launched in 2011. Today there are over a 100 blockchains, with 13,000 coins, tokens, and lakhs of collectible NFTs. The crypto sector has spawned hundreds of start-ups and attracted over USD 30 billion in funding in 2021. Further, the mushrooming of crypto wallets and crypto exchanges driven by powerful advertising, has raised a bewildering array of questions in an investor’s mind today :-

How is Bitcoin different from Gold, Stocks, Currency, Forex, etc? What is the technology and economics behind Bitcoin? How secure is Bitcoin? How do I get a crypto wallet? How do crypto exchanges work? Arvind’s session will address these questions and provide a conceptual map, and a guide to operational aspects on how to start investing and how to research the crypto field.

The session will cover programmable money or smart-contract-layer-1 like Ethereum ($ETH), Binance Build-n-Build($BNB), Solana ($SOL), Terra $LUNA and Fantom $FTM which capture more value than applications in supply chain, payments, IoT and gaming; Sectors and segments by market cap, industry usage (supply chain, gaming, payments, decentralized finance DeFi); Market structure and trading venues; Broker/Dealer, Exchange, Depository, Registrar / Regulation Centralized exchanges (CEX) like Coinbase, Binance, Gemini and Dealers/Brokers like Coinswitch, WazirX, Vauld as well as decentralized (DEX) like Pancakeswap ($CAKE), Uniswap ($UNI), Anyswap ($ANY).

For the audience at this talk, there will be Q&A time for exploration of a disruptive horizontal technology and intangible economy.
