The National Gallery of Modern Art, Bengaluru, in collaboration with the South Zone Cultural Centre, presents two evenings of captivating performances that bring alive India’s cultural heritage in a majestic setting. On 29th August 2025, Guru Kalanilayam Vasudevan and troupe will stage the Kathakali play Kiratam, depicting Arjuna’s encounter with Lord Shiva in disguise, while on 30th August 2025, the Peenya Dasarahalli Kodava Samaja led by Shri Amit Bheemaiah will showcase vibrant Kodava folk dances including Bolak aat, Kathi aar, Koal aat, Pareya kali, Ummath aat, Baalo paat, and Thali paat. Note: The gallery will simultaneously be open till 8:00 pm for visitors to experience Night at the Museum by witnessing our in-house curated exhibitions, Sanhita: A New Beginning for the Air India Collection and Kaal Netra – Sacred Matrices: Seema Kohli’s Living Mythic Universe, at NGMA Bengaluru. (only on 29th & 30th)
