AI is here and how- Chat GPT became the quickest tech company to 100 million active users in 2 months and millions of images are being created with text to image generation services daily! What does this all mean for art and creativity? Does art continue to be a human pursuit, or have we finally managed to ‘automate’ art? If AI can create any ultra-realistic looking image instantly on demand, where does this blurring boundary between truth and generated reality leave us? Are the datasets that power these AI models representative of our cultural diversities or are they funnelling us into whitewashed vaults? How do we navigate this post-truth, post-human era we find ourselves in? Can art be a medium to engage with these questions more critically and thus collectively shape the future of humanity? Artist Harshit Agrawal will explore these topics through this talk, sharing his work in the area of AI and art over the last decade.
