Once a year, Vasu pulls this off—and every year, it somehow feels new. Now in its sixth edition, the show carries the same spirit that started it all: a celebration of Bob Dylan’s music and its profound influence on Vasu’s life, rendered by a gathering of motley souls drawn together by the power of song. Backing them is a high-energy band giving the show its drive. This year, the sound opens up—Dylan’s music with a stronger rhythm section, horns, and a slightly different edge.
Vasu feels privileged to be joined by a wide circle of close friends. What makes the stage truly vibrant is its sheer range of life. Musicians and singers spanning six decades—from age 20 to nearly 90—stand shoulder to shoulder. Diplomats, bankers, industrialists, doctors, designers, professionals—each bringing their own story, their unique sound.
In many ways, this is what Bangalore represents: a coming together of the eclectic, bound by a common cause. At the centre of it all remains the music of Bob Dylan—songs that have stayed, evolved, and mean different things to each person on that stage… or perhaps in the audience.
