Event Description

Artist Dr Deepali Mahanta Kayal presents her second solo show in Bangalore, titled “Mid-Flight” at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath from the 18th – 22nd Oct 2023.

Mid-Flight showcases the themes of Divine Female power, abiding eternal love, rootedness in the natural world, and the spirit of sheer determination. Her works are the lens through which she explores Indian mythology and folklore, and the beauty and tranquility of nature. Mid-Flight presents these ideas that have been central to Dr Kayal’s work. Dr Kayal is an established artist in the North East Indian art community and had her first solo exhibition in 1991 in Guwahati, Assam. Over the years, she has showcased her work in prestigious exhibitions nationally and internationally in shows across Asia, Europe and North America. This is the artist’s 20th solo exhibition and 2nd solo show in Bengaluru. Oil, acrylic, gesso, wood, metal and hieroglyphs are some of the different media she has experimented with over the years.
