Every Brilliant Thing, written by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, is a one-person play that celebrates the beauty found in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Through the story of a child who begins making a list of everything that makes life worth living, the play unfolds into a poignant exploration of hope, memory, and human connection. With warmth, humour, and intimacy, the play navigates themes of depression, grief, suicide, and loss without diminishing their complexity. Instead, it offers a deeply moving reflection on resilience and reminds us that even in life’s darkest moments, there are countless reasons to keep looking for brilliance. Come and enjoy a show filled with heart and soul performed by two distinct actors. 1st August at 5pm: Performed by Syed Saad Syed Saad is an actor and writer based in Bangalore, and a core member of Arena Theatre Productions, contributing across both acting and production. His work spans digital commercials and stage, with performances in multiple renditions of To Kill a Mockingbird, The Seagull, The Kite Runner, and A Thousand Splendid Suns. He has also adapted Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull into a contemporary interpretation for Arena Theatre Productions. His recent theatre work, including The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns, has been critically acclaimed for the depth and craft of his performances. Director: Tahera Tahera is an actor, director, movement, voice coach, and the Founder of Arena Theatre Productions. Based in Bengaluru, she stands at the forefront of the new generation of Indian theatre practitioners. As a director, her distinct style uniquely integrates abstract movement and tight ensembles into her productions. She has helmed a diverse repertoire of staged plays, including Fourteen, Taramandal, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Seagull, The Vagina Monologues, Tumhare Baare Mein, and The Kite Runner. Under her artistic leadership, Arena Theatre Productions has mounted showcases at premier venues across India, including the Tata Theatre (NCPA), Chowdiah Memorial Hall, Good Shepherd Auditorium, and the Prestige Centre for Performing Arts.
