ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ-ಭಾಷಿಕರೇ ಪ್ರಧಾನವಾಗಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ.  ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ, ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನ್ಯಾಯ – ಸೌಹಾರ್ದಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಮನೋಧರ್ಮ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಭೂ ಪ್ರದೇಶ. ಹೀಗೆ ಈ ರಾಜ್ಯ ರೂಪುಗೊಳ್ಳುವಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ನೆಲದ ದಾರ್ಶನಿಕರು,  ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು, ಕುಶಲಕರ್ಮಿಗಳು , ಆಡಳಿತಗಾರರು, ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಆದ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕೊಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಸಮಕಾಲೀನ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಚಿಂತನೆಗಳ ಮೌಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪರ್ಯಾಲೋಚಿಸುವ ಸಲುವಾಗಿ ಆರಂಭಿಕವಾಗಿ ಎಂಟು ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು  ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿ ವಿಚಾರ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡೆಸಬೇಕೆನ್ನುವುದು ಈ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯ ಆಶಯ. ಈ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವವರು ಲೇಖಕರು-ಚಿಂತಕರು ಕನ್ನಡದ  ಜ್ಞಾನಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿಜೇತ ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕವನ್ನು ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಬಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯು ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಶೀಲವಾಗಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು ಎನ್ನುವ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಈ ಗೋಷ್ಠಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Karnataka is not just a state belonging to the Kannada language and its speakers. It is a geographical domain that has assimilated its own unique perception of education, science, development, social justice and harmony. Many philosophers, literary figures, scientists, artisans and administrators from this land have given their own contributions in the process of building the state. The present session initiates and intends to reflect upon the perspectives of some of these eminent people. It intends to revisit eight Jnanpith recipients of Karnataka, identifies their contribution to the land of Karnataka, and hopes to discuss the relevance of their thoughts in the contemporary context.  Writers and thinkers who participate in the session present their thoughts regarding the way these Jnanpith recipients conceptualized Karnataka and the way they thought about revitalizing the spirit of the Kannada consciousness in future.

ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯ ಚಲನೆಯ ಪಲ್ಲಟವನ್ನು ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ವಿವಿಧ ನೆಲೆಗಳಿಂದ ಶೋಧಿಸುವ ಬಸವರಾಜ ಕಲ್ಗುಡಿಯವರು, ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿ, ಪ್ರಾಥಮಿಕ, ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಿಕ, ಪ್ರೌಢ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಲೇಜು ವ್ಯಾಸಂಗವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.  ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿ, 30 ವರ್ಷ ಕಾಲ ಬೋಧಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.

’ಅನುಭಾವ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು‘ ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಪ್ರಬಂಧಕ್ಕೆ  ಪಿಎಚ್.ಡಿ. ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿಯ ಮಾಸ್ತಿಕಲ್ಲು ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ ಅವರ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಯ ಕೃತಿ `ಮಹಾಸತಿ ಆಚರಣೆ‘. ಇನ್ನುಳಿದಂತೆ ನಕ್ಷೆ ನಕ್ಷ̧ತ್ರ, ಬೇಂದ್ರೆಯವರ ಕಾವ್ಯ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಂಗಾತಿ (ಸಂ), ಬಹುರೂಪಿ(ಸಂ), ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಥಾ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ (ಸಂ), ವಿಚಾರ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ (ಸಂ) ಇವರ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಗಳು. ಕಲ್ಗುಡಿಯವರು ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು  ವಿವಿಧ ಜ್ಞಾನಶಿಸ್ತುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ  ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿರುವುದು ಕನ್ನಡ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ-ಗೌರವಗಳು: ಶಂಬಾ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ (ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ), ಜಿ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್.ವಿಶ್ವಸ್ಥ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ  , ಜೆ.ಎಸ್.ಎಸ್. (ಮೈಸೂರು) ಪೀಠ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಡಾ.ಎಚ್.ಎನ್.ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ , ಬುದ್ಧ ಪೂರ್ಣಿಮೆ ಗೌತಮ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಸಂದಿವೆ.

Basavaraaja Kalgudi explores culture and the changes in its movement from different viewpoints holistically. Born in Belgaum, Basavaraja Kalgudi had his primary, secondary, high school and college education in Bengaluru. He embarked on his profession at Kannada Adhyayana Kendra of Bangalore University, where he served as a lecturer for 30 years.

He is the recipient of Ph.D for the research thesis called ‘Anuhbava mattu saamskrutika samasyegalu”. His another research work includes “Mahasati Aacharane” which was written after conducting fieldwork about Mastikallu of Karnataka. Apart from this, his significant published works include Nakshe Nakshatra, Bendreyavara Kaavya, Karnataka Sangaati (comp), Bahuroopi (comp), Aadhunika Kannada Kathaa Saahitya (comp), Vichaara Saahitya (comp). Kalgudi has explored Vachana Literature through various disciplines of knowledge which has been considered as unique in the world of Kannada Critics.

ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ, ಲೇಖಕ ದೇವು ಪತ್ತಾರ ಅವರು ಜನಿಸಿದ್ದು ಯಾದಗಿರಿಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ ಶಹಪುರ. ಧಾರವಾಡದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಗ್ಲಿಷ್‌ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿರುವ ಇವರು ಲಿಂಗ್ವಿಸ್ಟಿಕ್ಸ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ಟ್ರಾನ್ಸಲೇಷನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಡಿಪ್ಲೊಮಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪ್ರಜಾವಾಣಿ, ವಿಜಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮುಂತಾದ ಹಲವಾರು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವರದಿಗಾರರಾಗಿ, ಉಪಸಂಪಾದಕ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂಕಣಕಾರರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅಖಿಲ ಭಾರತ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬಂಧ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಖಾತ್ರಿ ಮತ್ತು ವಲಸೆ ಕುರಿತು ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ವರದಿ ಮಂಡಿಸಿರುವ ಇವರು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಕನಕದಾಸ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನ ಕೇಂದ್ರದಿಂದ ಫೆಲೋಶಿ‌ಪ್‌ ಹಾಗೂ ಗೋಕಾಕ ವಾಙ್ಞಯ ಟ್ರಸ್ಟ್ ನ ಫೆಲೋಶಿಪ್ ಕೂಡ ಸಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕೃತಿಗಳು : ಕ್ಯಾಮರಾ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಗುಲಾಂ ಮುಂತಕಾ, ಮಹಾದೇವ ಬಾಬಾ ಮೆಡೋಸ್‌ ಟೇಲರ್(ಸಂಪಾದಿತ), ಈಗ ಹೀಗಿರುವ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ (ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಚಿತ್ರ), ಬಹಮನಿ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯ, ಎಸಳು(ಸಂಪಾದಿತ).

Journalist and writer Devu Pattar was born in Shahapura, Yaadagiri District. He completed his masters in English literature at Karanataka University, Dharwad and has obtained a Diploma in Linguistics and Translation.

He has worked as a reporter, sub editor and editor in many newspapers like Prajavani, Vijayakarnataka.

He has submitted his thesis in many programs like Akhila Bharatha Kannada Saahitya Sammelana. He has also submitted a study report on Employment Guarantee and Migration. He has received fellowships from Karanataka Sahitya Academy and Kanakadaasa Study and Research Center and Gokaka Vaagmaya Trust.

ಪುಷ್ಪಾ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಪದವಿ ಮತ್ತು  ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ತೌಲನಾತ್ಮಕ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರೋತ್ತರ ಕಾಲದ ನಾಟಕಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳ ಸಂಬಂಧದ ಕುರಿತು ಪಿಎಚ್.ಡಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪ್ರೌಢಶಾಲಾ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾಚಾರ್ಯೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅವರ ಮೊದಲ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಸಂಕಲನ “ಅಮೃತಮತಿ ಸ್ವಗತ” ಕ್ಕೆ ಉದಯ ಭಾರತಿ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. “ಗಜುಗೋಳ”, “ಲೋಹದ ಕಣ್ಣು”, “ಸೋಲಬರಸ ಹುಡುಗರು ಹಾಗು ಎಕ್ಕದ ಬೀಜ”, “ಮದರಂಗಿ ವೃತ್ತಾಂತ” ಎನ್ನುವ ಸಂಕಲನಗಳು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಿತ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿವೆ.

ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಾದ ಚೇತನಾ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ, ಮಾಂತ್ರಂ ಅಚೀವ್ಮೆಂಟ್ ಅವಾರ್ಡ್, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಶ್ರೀ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಗೌರವಗಳು ಲಭಿಸಿವೆ. “ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲ ಇವಳು” ನಾಟಕಕ್ಕೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ದೊರೆತಿದೆ.

ಅವರ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯ ಕೃತಿ “ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ಅಂದರೆ ಅಷ್ಟೇ ಸಾಕೆ” ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿಯ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದೆ. “ಗಂಧಗಾಳಿ”, “ವಚನ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ತ್ರೀತ್ವದ  ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ” ಇವರ ಇತರ ಕೃತಿಗಳು

Pushpa has a bachelors degree in Science and Masters in Comparative studies. She has a Ph.D in Mind Body relation in Post Interdependence Dramas. She has also worked as a Professor in High School Education Department of Government of Karnataka.

She has received many awards including Udaya Bharathi National Award for her first collection of poems “Amruthamathi Swagata”. And compilations like “Gajugola”, “Lohada Kannu”,”Solabarasa hudugaru haagu Ekkada Beeja”,”Madarangi Vruttaanta” have won many prestigious awards.

She is also the recipient of many accolades like Naada Chethana Award, Mantram Achievement Award, Sahityashri Award. She has received Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award for “Bhoomiyalla Ivalu”.

Her work of Criticism “Sthree endare ashte sake” has won her Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award. Her other works are “Gandhagali”, “Vachana Saahitya mattu Sthreethvada Kalpanegalu”.

ಅನುವಾದಕಿ, ವಿಮರ್ಶಕಿ ಆಶಾದೇವಿ ಅವರು ದಾವಣಗೆರೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ನೇರಳಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಿಸಿದರು. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಎಂ.ಎ. ಮತ್ತು ನವೋದಯ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯ ವಿಮರ್ಶೆಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಕುರಿತು ಪಿಎಚ್.ಡಿ ಪದವಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Translator and Critic Ashadevi was born in Neralige, Davanegere District. She has done Kannada M.A. in Bangalore University and has obtained Ph.D. on subject titled Navodaya Vimarsheya mele Paschathya Vimarsheya Prabhaava

Sthreematavanuttarisalaagade (Articles about literature culture) Urichammaalige (Translation of D R Nagaraj’s work The flaming feet), Vachana Pravesha (Comp), Naduve Sulivaatma (Critical work), Bharatada Bangara P T Usha are her important works.

She is the recipient of many awards including “M K Indira Award”. “Akka” “Infosys Award”. Currently she is working as Kannada Professor in Maharani Science College, Bangalore.

His written has been awarded and honoured by Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Govinda Pai Research Centre of Manipal University, Bangalore University, Masthi Trust B.M. Sree prathistana, Kannada Sahitya Parishat etc.

K. Satyanarayana is a retired officer of Indian Revenue service and was Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Karnataka & Goa.

His recent and important Publications include. Chinna Puttammanavaŗa Gruha Nyay̧̧a Savina Dashavathaŗa Kala Jinķe Beedi Jagaļa Schoolu Biduva Samay̧a Nanna Pusthakagala Atma Charithŗe Covid Daiŗy, English Swargakke Dariyalļa. He has also edited a collection of essays by George Orwell.
