Are they the bad girls of mythology or just plain misunderstood? Seductive, bold, trailing in their wake doom and destruction, these were the early rebels of the epics. In these latest books The Forgotten Wife: The Story of Hidimbi and Bheem by Madahavi Mahadevan, Jezebel by KR Meera, and Eden Abandoned: The Story of Lilith by Shinie Antony, feminism is able to trace its history and origins back to when perhaps women with ambition were dismissed as demonesses.
The three authors will discuss legend and lore with poet Mani Rao. A Q&A with the audience will follow.
