Event Description

Announcing an open session by Igor Narovski, Artistic Director of Dr. Klauns, a Healthcare clowning organization in Latvia, Europe. This will be an introduction to clowning as an art form as well as how it can be an effective medium in healthcare. Healthcare clowning is a form of expressive therapy that uses the skills and techniques of professional clowns to support and comfort patients in healthcare and reduce anxiety and stress. Igor Narovski is a clownstronaut, poet, and adventurer. He has over 10 years of experience clowning in healthcare environments. Igor along with Actors Conservatory are volunteering to create a community of Healthcare clowns in India and announced a 2-month weekend-only Workshop, to begin with. This workshop will also have two Guest Faculty besides Igor. Suzie Ferguson from Scotland is a clown with 12 years of experience working in healthcare settings. Linda from Latvia, whose work is in NGO "Create the Environment Yourself" where she promotes active participation, climate, and environmental awareness, as well as more inclusive approaches.
