Event Description

Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore and The I.S.R.O are hosting Legion Seven for their live performance ´For Safe Passage´ on April 23. On this evening, in addition to Legion Seven, we have the great pleasure of presenting TITO+, tidal.wav and revant.

Legion Seven (*1993 in Brampton, CAN) is an artist whose work is an erratic vehicle on a splendid path. Their projects emerge in bodies as diverse as the imagination; consistent only in a refractive departure from the literal cult rigidity into which Seven was born. The wreckage of this rigidity, strewn with dream-mythology, science-fiction, chaos-logic and exuberant lies, drapes the path wherewith Seven gains momentum and puts momentum on display. TITO+ is a composer, producer and designer from Kolkata, India. His releases are often characterized by a kaleidoscopic mash of Field Recordings, Noise, Ambient, surreal Jazzy refrains and Electronics, offering an immersive snippet of space, time and experiences. His recent releases have been championed on platforms including Montez Press Radio, CAMP Radio, Boxout.FM, NOODS, Radio Alhara and more. "Home is No More" is an audiovisual performance by TITO+ that explores the complex emotions surrounding the loss of one's home and what it means to be displaced and uprooted.

Saranya Murthi aka tidal.wav is a writer and audiovisual artist. Her work is a reflection of her fascination with horror, the ritual and the supernatural. As a moving image artist, she explores glitch and new media principles to create chaotic, evocative textures. Her sound project, tidal.wav, brings together elements of noise, industrial, EBM and witch house. 'Liminal Spaces' is an exploration of soundscapes that speak to spaces that don't exist, and nostalgia for events that didn't occur.

revant is a sound and visual artist from Kolkata currently residing in Mumbai, India. Founder of West Bengal-based, Avant-Garde label Biswa Bangla Noise, he spends his time working on experimentations with field recordings, ambient music, noise, and power electronics. 'Don't Touch the Pacemaker' is an audiovisual performance exploring passive listening and its connection with self-dissociation and paranoia. The performance seeks to challenge one's common perception of reality through the use of experimental soundscapes and field recordings.
