Event Description
For Whose Dear Sake Our Fathers Died begins with Beant Kaur listening to her grandfather’s stories and slowly piecing together the deeply personal history of her ancestors—from the Anglo-Sikh wars to British rule, from the upheaval of 1857 to the Komagata Maru voyage. These are stories passed down through generations, through conversations, memories, grief, and pride. The book looks at history through the people who lived it and the choices they had to make. This is a story of family, memory, and the stories we pass on before they are lost forever. Join us for the launch of For Whose Dear Sake Our Fathers Died with Priya Hajela and Amandeep Sandhu as they talk about family, grief, and the power of inheritance.
