About

This recurring contemporary dance workshop offers participants an opportunity to build a consistent movement practice while exploring the foundations and evolving principles of contemporary dance. Suitable for both beginners and intermediate dancers, the workshop creates a supportive environment where participants can develop technical skills alongside creativity, confidence and embodied awareness.

Drawing from a range of contemporary dance approaches such as including floor work, weight transfer, improvisation, somatic practices, dynamic movement and choreographic exploration each session focuses on developing techniques, body awareness, coordination, balance, movement quality and expressive potential.

As the workshops progress each month, participants will gradually expand their movement vocabulary, refine their technical practice and engage in creative tasks that encourage curiosity, experimentation and artistic expression. The classes are designed to offer gradual challenges and fresh movement inquiries with each session. Whether you are beginning your journey in contemporary dance or looking to deepen an existing practice, this workshop offers a space to move, learn and connect through the body.

Session includes

Warm-ups, guided technical tasks, guided exploration of movements individually and with a partner or in a group, expressive movement practice, cool down, reflection.
