Event Description

The young artists have fun tracing a musical teaching lineage to a famous source, illustrating how knowledge of the art form transfers through generations. Born into non-musician families, young artists Aria Knechtges and Alisha Govindaraj will trace how their family lineage shaped their work ethic and artistic trajectories.

Featuring the music of Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, Bruch, Schumann and Massenet, Aria and Alisha will describe how the lessons of their musical and family heritages inform their work ethic and understanding of the music. The artists will also foreshadow musical themes and devices in the pieces for the collective enjoyment of the music.
